-Striving to live a simple, healthy life one day at a time-

Hurray for Quiche!

One of my most favorite cookbooks is Magic Spices.  There are so many great healthy recipes, using all kinds of spices.  A recipe I make quite often is the Spinach and Mushroom Quiche.  It's so delicious!

Look at these lovely brown eggs!

The onions and mushrooms are sauteed in butter.

Pie shell prebaked for 5 minutes.

A mixture of milk, flour, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, Worcestershire sauce, and salt are added.

Add in the spinach and shredded swiss cheese.

And here it is ready to be baked!

This beautiful 7-layer salad was made by my daughter.  Look at all that color!

Here you have it!  I wasn't able to save this as a breakfast only meal.  I had a piece right as soon as it was done (for supper).  I think Quiche is a versatile food that is good at any time of day, even for a snack.
